 Considered to be one of the most beautiful of all train routes, the Coast Starlight connects the hottest cities on America's West Coast. En route daily between Seattle and Los Angeles, the Coast Starlight passes through Portland, Eugene, Sacramento, the San Francisco Bay Area and Santa Barbara.

 TriMet's MAX Light Rail system connects Portland, Gresham, Beaverton, Hillsboro and the Portland Airport. Trains run every 5-15 minutes roughly between 4:30 a.m. and midnight.

 In July 2001, the Portland Streetcar began service linking downtown's Cultural District, the Pearl District and the Nob Hill/Northwest Neighborhood. The sleek Euro-designed streetcars progress along a newly constructed 4.8-mile loop that begins and ends at the Portland State University campus.
